I think it's more that many IP owners aren't fighting back against GoodSmile's team's cost cutting. Most IP holders don't really care about ensuring good quality, as long as they get their licensing fees. Cover Corp on the other hand, is surprisingly strict.

Kiara's new Nendoroid took forever (and is finally on pre-order) because of the sheer amount of back-and-forth Hololive was forcing Goodsmile to make changes. I believe that they really wanted her dagger to fit in that slot in her shield and other small details.
