The much heralded Trump RX scheme is nothing new. Good RX, a private company that provides coupons for discounted drugs, has been in business for 15 years. It is providing the technology for Trump RX, and the network for dicounts on certain medications. Trump claims that his "plan" is revolutionary, but it's simply a kind of deceptive rebranding.

I’ve been shifting a lot of my inquiries on medication pricing to #MarkCuban's #CostPlusDrugs online pharmacy. In many cases, their prices are lower or similar to patient's co-pay and typically much less than the prices listed in #GoodRx.
My patients are usually flabbergasted when they see these Cuban's prices. I tell them it always pays to shop around!
PS: This also goes for diagnostic studies (#hospitals usually charge 3-6 times more than most outpatient facilities.)

After the #BetterHelp and #GoodRX debacles, it's important to realize that #HIPAA was never intended as a real #privacy #law at least some of your #healthcare #data is being #sold to #DataBrokers.
This is one reason setups like GoodRX are able to offer #prescriptions at a lower cost: because the price you pay is supplemented by the information that will be sold about the transaction.
So please pay close attention to the terms of any medical savings agreement. You may be unwittingly signing yourself up for more than you're supposed to realize.

Please be careful sharing health information. BetterHelp was caught sending people's mental health information to Facebook/Meta and GoodRx was caught doing the same thing. The US govt is finally taking action on this, but we're a long way from stopping corporations from selling our private information to corporations eager to make money off us.
