GOG design changes are bad:
- they've put a big GOG Galaxy button at the top (useless app imo, partially goes against the GOG idea)
- navbar items aren't "click to open menu," but "click to navigate / hover to open menu," which is unexpectedAlso, they haven't fixed game covers expanding on hover, which blocks the view of nearby items.

🇩🇪 Weil Windows euch nervt oder um im Rahmen des DiDay unabhängiger von BigTech zu werden oder einfach, weil ihr Spiele DRM-frei nutzen wollt. Für die Nutzung der europäischen Firma GOG gibt es diverse Gründe.
Nun soll mehr Fokus auf Linux gelegt werden, wie GOG vor einiger Zeit durch ein Statement sowie eine Stellenausschreibung ankündigte. Wer also der Meinung ist, dass sich Good old Games im Fediverse in guter Gesellschaft befinden würde, findet hier den Link zum Voting auf GOG:

#Bandcamp and #GoG ( #GoodOldGames ) are my friends when it comes to this.That, and my approach to dealing with #abandonware ... which is to just copy it. Since copying abandonware neither causes financial loss nor causes property loss to the IP owner, it is not theft, I would argue.

Vor acht Jahren habe ich zum ersten Mal die GOG.com-Version gespielt. Dann, vor fünf Jahren, habe ich richtig ernsthaft mit einem neuen Spiel angefangen. Und vor ungefähr fünf Wochen habe ich mir jede Woche einen Abend freigenommen, um die Story zu Ende zu spielen!

I've got the 30 year old Star Trek: The Next Generation Interactive Technical Manual working on my Steamdeck.
It's the perfect device for it.

Previously, you could enable 2FA of a sort by having them e-mail you a link during log on.

This is like anti gaming for me. Generally speaking, the
"Hunt / Shoot / Garrotte fellow humans"
genre of #Gaming is just not my cup of tea. Fantastical enemies, weapons, setting, scenarios can hide much the kill other people loop. and there is always monsters, aliens, demons, and gods to slay. Injustices to right, Revenges to be wrought etc.
But go hunt and kill target human, no thanks.
But hey, I ain't e'rybody

Ya know what game I would really like to buy from #GoG? DRM free, no launcher required, etc. version of #MassEffect Legendary Edition. Even though I already own it on Steam/EA, I absolutely love those games and feel like it's one of those collections that "needs" to be preserved long term outside of EA's launcher or ecosystem. I'd pay full price all over again just to have a copy without any EA launcher requirement or other DRM.
