I have had an awesome day today. It was 8.30am when I left home & 6pm when I arrived back here & I definitely don’t need any dinner this evening. I’ve had a fabulous day with 3 lovely friends, one of them newly minted 😁. We stopped first in Beechworth for coffee & some had cake & I could have had a savoury scone but was still full from brekky so I didn’t. Left Beechworth & drove on to Myrtleford & a visit to Red Ramia, an amazing shop full of all sorts of things you just didn’t know you needed! I even found a rug for my lounge that I loved, but not just before Christmas! After leaving Myrtleford we heading to Bright & it was nearly 1pm by the time we got there. We sat outside at a cafe near the river for lunch, there were lots of young people enjoying the water. After eating & chatting & laughing we spent the next hour or so wandering round town, checking out different shops, buying a few bits & pieces & generally just enjoying ourselves. Ice cream 🍦 was had of course before went back to the car for the drive home. Good morning tooters. It was a lovely 13c when I climbed out of bed at 6am & went straight outside, planted & watered in the purple leafed basil & the chamomile I bought yesterday. Looking forward to watching them grow & spread. The basil is called purple ruffles & is quite pretty. The chamomile I planted in the same bed & behind the Dogwood, it’ll make a lovely green carpet with little white flowers next to the Thyme with is pink flowers. Today it’s heading up to another warm 32c, but at the moment it’s lovely with a cool breeze. There was a few drops of rain last night, so I’m not bothering to water today.
Meeting my walking buddy for lunch today, not that we’ve walked much lately. I’ve been swimming instead & my friend has had a number of things on her plate as well. So this will be a really good catch up before all the Christmas crazy grabs us.
First up though I’m going to shower & then do a gentle Balance class to settle & calm me. Not that I’m not settled & calm, but it doesn’t hurt to reinforce it.

Such a lovely day today. I was at the pool just before 8.30 & straight into it. 1.5km & an 1 & a half hrs later I was done & happy. Came home got changed & tidied up & was picked up before noon by my friend & off we went for lunch. Veggie quiche & salad for me & it was enormous, I couldn’t get through it all. There’s a fabulous gift store & nursery attached to the cafe & we all had a lovely time checking everything out. Some things were bought, but I saved my purchases for the nursery. I came across a herb supposed to help memory, one I’d never heard of before & apparently also good in salads or tea, so I tasted it - it was foul tasting, I had to spit it out. Still I bought some purple basil & chamomile & I’ll plant them in the morning when it’s cooler. Next my friend had a big list of things she wanted to get from Bunnings, so off we went there & it certainly was a big list. It was actually a lot of fun seeing all the stuff that our biggest Bunnings has, there is definitely a load of the weird & wonderful items in there. We were in there for ages. I checked out a few pots that were a good size for so plan to go back after Christmas & New Year. Arrived home close to 4pm a bit tired but very satisfied, fruit & yoghurt for my dinner. It’s the simple things ☺️. #GoodFriends #GoodDay #HappyDay

Good morning tooters. A little warmer last night & about 14c when I got up at my usual 6am. It’s heading up to a fairly warm 33c today. It’s very still outside with very fine cloud around.
I’ve already watered the garden & am about to get ready to head to the pool for an hour or so. I’m being picked up by a friend from Chiltern later this morning, the lady I bought my car off actually. Her mother is over from Wales for Christmas & we’re all going out for lunch. I’m looking forward to catching up with them both. It’s been two years since her mother made the trip. It’ll be fun.

I got to spend tonight catching up with an old friend that coached youth hockey with me for many years.
He was passing through on his way back east and we had a nice dinner out and then spent too many hours after on our deck looking up at the stars and drinking the last of my best bottle of bourbon.
Sometimes life can be pretty good. It seems important that I remind myself of that these days.

Pretty sure @Shanmonster and team are keeping me alive right now. Ever since Shan found out I was sick I’ve gotten daily food. Today I got a medicine chest worth of cold supplies in the morning and food in the evening.
I’m agnostic, but I know what it is to feel blessed.

Hi Everyone - update time.
Thank you for all your overwhelming and wonderous support, I cannot possibly express my appreciation and gratitude.
Mum died while I was flying north. My sisters were with her at the time, along with her granddaughters and great-grandchild. While I was en route to Gosford hospital - THANK YOU Tracey Lloyd - music was played, singing along happened, there was time with Jane.
Everyone left me alone for a bit with mum when I arrived, and I am absolutely ok with not being present when her last breath happened. I am, too, glad that I had that time alone with her. I have a couple of theories about mum's peaceful, and rapid, death:
1) the doctors urgently needed her to produce urine to help clear toxicity - and she was famously stubborn and contrary. (Actually true!)
2) she was not going to hang around for me to make another joke about "Shady Pines ma, Shady Pines", and/or "How about a light pillow over your face Janey??!", and/or "Watch it or I'll put you to bed with a shovel mum..." (Actually pure speculation, but still)
Gorgeous friend Justine took me in for the night in the city thanks to Natural Chauffeur Tracey driving me into the city centre. Then this morning Justine bought me a Jane memorial galette and mimosa to toast mum with, because this was our celebration drink for years.
