It's been a lot of fun using Gnome OS as my main and only OS for the last 9 months!

But I'm starting to miss being able to use my dedicated GPU – especially now that I've started working a bit with video. And unfortunately Gnome OS does not support the proprietary driver needed to use my Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050.

So I'm on the lookout for my next OS. Recommendations appreciated, if it runs Gnome and you know for sure it supports the GTX 1050!

Woke up early so decided to compose an email to tell person who messed up my concerns. Worked a treat since things look like they might be sorted. I also got a long walk in #GoMe

We had some code for image randomisation which ran very slowly in ImageJ.
Pro: easy to use by labbies
Con: very slow, like really slowww

Decided to rewrite the whole thing in python last night. In testing this morning, it seems to be 100 times faster! It uses a different approach so the comparison is not entirely fair, but still #GoMe

I am so tired. My sleep is fucked for my course so I know I'll be tired AF, whatever times I sleep and wake, unless I get randomly lucky, which is possible.
It's annoying but otherwise fine. The DWP looms with their "make young people with symptoms work" bullshit, but the blade's not fallen yet.

With any luck, I can get work as an off-hours therapist. Like crisis lines, night shift standby, or similarly flaky clients who check my daily / weekly schedule forecast and call me up during my projected online-office hours.

#AmWriting Some writing friends periodically arrange to meet in a cafe for what we call #ShutUpAndWrite. I usually can't join because they meet when I need to be working/at work. But yesterday three of us met. My plan was to transcribe several days of morning page inspiration but I brought the wrong notebook (work & morning page notebooks are both yellow right now). That said, I managed to bash out 1000 words of the same story with a some description & a couple of characters. #GoMe

I just received the news that after 18 years of putting my professional career on the back burner to raise my children, I will be starting as a financial rep for a huge investment firm. The idea that I can start a new career in my 40s is exciting and I am so grateful for this opportunity! #GoMe #Excited #Finance
