I only ever see Shore Lark when I go to #Norfolk and this year it took some doing. A walk of nearly two miles up the beach at #Holkham (and back again). Worth every step.
At #Titchwell these Golden Plover looked beautiful in the light.

Took a "bracing" #Wander from #RestBay in #Porthcawl to #SkerPoint today. Some dramatic #Seas and #Skies, Plenty of #Birds, including a huge flock of #GoldenPlover and it was good to see the scaffolding finally starting to come off #SkerHouse.

Blending into the background: Golden Plovers on the North York Moors
I'm no expert on bird identification, but I think these birds are Golden plover (Pluvialis squatarola) in their winter plumage.
I didn't notice them at first, a flock of about a dozen birds, until they suddenly flew up fifty meters or so in front of me, their white underwings flashing as they flew closely together with the wind. The ...
