I feel sometimes like the kid from The Sixth Sense. That reference probably dates me to an extent, it's from 1999 which feels like practically yesterday. It's pretty recent as my references go: I know who Kojak was, and remember M*A*S*H.

Early on when the pandemic started, I tried to occupy myself by going back and playing some of the Gold Box games for the C64, but quickly ran into how badly they had aged. I know, I'm spoiled by modern RPGs.

However, I just came across Skald on Steam, and it really seems to be a modern version of what made the Gold Box games so great. I've only played the demo for a bit, but I'm liking it so far.
