Aylan about Elias:
"I am his twin sister; I see his pain in silence...
He suffers with his eyes but pretends to be strong.
If I could, I would give him my sight so he could see the world without pain."[Rapha]

"We are dying here without a voice, without shelter, and without attention… us, and everything left of this world’s innocence."

"In a tent that shields neither from the cold nor the wind, my child stood holding a tiny turtle that died in his hands…
It couldn’t survive the storm — just like us.
My child, who hasn’t even lived his childhood yet, was saying goodbye to another innocent soul that left in silence, as if even the sea can no longer carry the weak."1/2

"We managed to buy some vegetables — barely enough to feed one person — and, of course, at unbelievable prices given the situation we're living through.
One pumpkin cost 50 shekels, which is around $14.70.
Two sweet potatoes cost 20 shekels, about $5.91.
A single cucumber was the same price.
And a 122-gram jar of hot pepper paste cost 25 shekels, approximately $6.95."3/4

"My daughter, Naeema, who is 22 years old, suffers from high blood pressure, along with constant headaches associated with the hypertension, and severe stomach pain.
Lentil soup is the daily meal if available for me and my family due to the shortage of flour, vegetables, and food."2/4

Update written by Haneen – 01.08.25
"family friends,
I thank all of you for supporting us to survive through the hardest time in humanity history.
I thought to keep you updated with our latest news.
My youngest child, Saji, instead of going to school like other children to learn, or playing with his toys and dreaming of his future, is helping me light the fire and gather wood and paper."1/4

"While my husband was on his way to collect a small amount of aid that could help us continue living with dignity, he was involved in a painful accident — he was hit by an aid truck. He suffered multiple fractures in his right leg and bruises in his left leg. By the mercy of God, he is now in stable condition."

"As for eggplants, they now cost 25 shekels, while the price used to be just 3 shekels per kilo. This is our reality today — outrageous prices and a severe shortage of many vegetables like onions, lemons, and potatoes. And even if small amounts are available, their prices are far beyond what we can afford."

"By the grace of God, we managed to get a few tomatoes — about half a kilo — for 25 shekels, which is equivalent to 8 dollars. Before the war, the same amount used to cost only 3 shekels. Just look at the unbelievable price difference!
The prices of peppers and eggplants have also become extremely high. This small amount of peppers cost 5 shekels, which is about $1.40 — whereas before the war, we could buy a whole kilo for the same price."2/5

"Good day for all of you,
I just want to keep you updated about our daily struggle to keep surviving day to day.
Today, we bought one kilogram of flour for 40 shekels, which is equivalent to $11.98 — compared to its pre-war price of just 4 shekels, or one dollar. Despite the high cost, the flour is full of insects and is not even enough to satisfy our hunger for a single meal."1/5

Update – 06.11.25
From Naeema's family:
"This is our situation, and winter comes and the situation becomes very dire. We live in a tent made of tattered fabrics, and the sun's rays penetrate the fabrics. Life here is very harsh."
Please help if you can so their family can buy a new tent or at least repair it:

"This is a scene of the daily suffering we live through, and here is the sewage spread between tents and public streets, and this is what causes us many diseases and the spread of unpleasant odors, as well as the spread of mosquitoes and flies that have become like the insects of ancient times, and all of this causes the spread of pollution."
