  9. 🚀 Oh no, the GOES-19 #satellite decided to take a little "me time" by entering Safe Hold mode, because apparently even space robots need a break from all that thrilling space weather prediction work. 🙄 Meanwhile, #NOAA is probably just hoping it doesn't start demanding paid vacation days. 😂

  11. Goes-19 Outage

This message from NOAA regarding Goes-19 (aka Goes East)

"As of July 15, 5:00 p.m. EDT, GOES-East (GOES-19) is experiencing an anomaly, is not transmitting data, and restoration of service is TBD. Until service is restored, GOES-East images on this site will not update. The GOES site team is monitoring the situation and will update this banner when further details are available."

As my website and the Space Weather Ops dashboards also used Goes-19 solar data, Goes-18 data is the sole data source for some data until Goes-19 can be restored. Should Goes-18 data drop out for any reason, there will be gaps in the data.

As Goes-18 was already the primary satellite for solar data, we're just losing the back up source for now.

  40. Space News

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory data has been having issues since 13 Sept.

A note on the SDO data retrieval website states:

"The SDO web server has had a hardware failure with its data storage, so some features and data are temporarily unavailable. The team is working to restore access as soon as possible. Please refer to the Data Access Page to find alternate sources of SDO data."

In the meantime until repairs are completed, Goes-19's SUVI instrument is a good backup source for live solar images.
