John McDowell, a Presbyterian seminary administrator, writes on Do Not Steal. Stealing can happen with a lawsuit. Dragging out a case in order for another to regain their right is oppression. It is especially grievous if you do it to a poor person.

William Henry Brisbane, Baptist minister, considers slavery in light of 1 Cor prohibition against extortion. Slavery is extortion with applied violence. Simply on these two verses of Paul, slaveholding is condemned.
In contrast, a Baptist seminary president gushed in November that his ordination robes had a family connnection to a great [pro-slavery] 19thc SBC theologian.
