I've had the sniffles and a headache the past few days so I didn't feel up to bicycling this morning... which makes me a litlte 😢 . So now since I got going a little earlier in case I did ride, I caught an earlier bus. It's empty. Thanksgiving. 🤷♂️ 🚎

I always wish I can take a picture of this pedestrian and bike counter when I go by on Fridays but I never want to stop the momentum. :)
So here it is this morning at Mostar and Metral*. It's already at 21 for today, I am usually number 23 or 24 when I go by around the same time Friday.

A little sad because the mount for my phone broke off, and I couldn't find my headlight this morning. But nothing that can't be easily fixed. I think the 20+yr old bike is feeling the mileage as much 40+yr old me! 😂

I did another 28km today! starting to feel not as sore when I am done! Body is getting used to it. Took the flatter/longer route. Much more enjoyable physically and still a really good workout. Being nearer traffic isn't as nice as being in the trees most of the way but it's a tradeoff. Though I wonder what the difference in air quality/vehicle emissions I breath in is actually like. #bike #goByBikeBC #GBBBC #Nanaimo #VIU #commuting #riding

Celebrating the end of Bike to School Week with a huge party. The kids loved the bike bling decorating station and obstacle course. The free bananas, oranges, and freezies were also very popular.

There's nothing like seeing the joy on kids faces when they ride their bikes around. We just need more AAA bike routes so they can ride more often.

It brings great joy to my heart to see every bike rack was full and then some. Hundreds of kids biking and scootering to school today at our local Vancouver elementary. 🚴🛴
After school there will be a celebration party with bike decorating, an obstacle course, tune-ups, free snacks, and a DJ.
