Warm day today = goannas
This joker was standing on my drive as I arrived home from work and went up the tree as I got closer.
This particular one would have been a little under 150cm (5’), but we definitely have bigger ones on the property. -

Today I learned some goannas (monitor lizards that live in australia) dig into termite mounds and lay their egges in termite mounds, which causes the termites to fix the hole, by burying the eggs, and incidentally protect the eggs. : )

That's good actually, because you #webdevs keep chasing the shiny new features #Chrome / #Chromium / #Blink is pushing to the #web like fucking fireflies, to the detriment of #webcompat with small #browsers like #PaleMoon, #Basilisk, and others based on #UXP / #Goanna / #XUL (like #SeaMonkey).
As someone who used to work actively in Pale Moon's development, I am witness to a website that almost broke its #compatibility with my #browser but was stopped because the new feature it wanted to require was not yet available in an old #Safari / #WebKit version they're still supporting.
So yes, from my point of view, #Apple does more to support the #openweb than #Mozilla and #Firefox (which always follows Chrome whenever it's not controversial) does, even if it didn't intend to. And to be clear, I am not even an Apple fanboy. The only Apple device I own is this ancient 1st generation of the iPad mini. I don't like their ecosystem.
So it's not a bad take. It's the reality we independent desktop browser developers see in #webdev. ☕

In 2021 Goanna’s lead singer accompanied protestors to blockade the road in the Tarkine that leads to the proposed mine tailings dam site.
Two years later, the protesters are still fighting for nature and for common sense.
GOANNA has now released their first new song in 25 years.The new single is called ‘takayna’, which is the palawa word for the Tarkine rainforest in North West Tasmania.

Anyone working on a new browser engine?
Something that's definitely not Chromium.I quite like Goanna and WebKit. Wish both had more devs behind it. Goanna is very light on resources though, but can struggle with these 6 TB perpetual JavaScript websites of today. #goanna #palemoon #luakit #Epiphany #Gnome

Just saw a shadow move towards our fig tree grove from a distance, went closer to investigate and eventually found this specimen high up in the branches! 🦎 No wonder the birds were sounding the alarm! 🚨 This beautiful Goanna could easily empty their nests 🪺🔜🪹 check out how they wrap their long tail around the tree for balance; from head to tail I'd guess this one to be approximately 1.8m long. Beauty! 🤠 (Where is a DSLR with a decent zoom lens when I need it... 🙈)
