Left: My mask back from being refurbished. New interior, paint and back plate (and no goalie mask of mine is official until my daughter puts a Grogu sticker on the back plate).

I wanted an Arizona theme, so the colors are silver and copper since we're a mining state (no gold because it's easy to overgold). And flames are very Arizona, as I can tell you from many summers of 110+ degree days!

As a former netminder, I love these rare backup #Goalie stories, and even rarer cases when they actually get called into action. I could dream of sitting in the stands of Maple Leaf Gardens in the mid 80s. Two freak injuries to the home team goalies prompts an announcement, "Is there a goalie in the house?" I slowly stand up and yell, "I'll do it."
I then proceed to shut out the Oilers for the rest of the game, including 3 breakaways by Gretzky. He shakes his head slowly after every unsuccessful attempt.

Friday night. Ice-hockey derby. Another opportunity to grab the gear* and trying to get something out of it for the challenge. It's so much fun to use my "gadget" camera for this, even though (or perhaps because) it is quite tricky to handle under such special conditions with a long focal length.
