  2. So I tried to adapt to the horizontal arrangement of #gnome40 workspaces for two weeks, but I find it a digression on two monitors. Pushing a window onto another workspace from the overview has become more clumsy and difficult.

Given that this is my only use for the overview mode I now reverted back to the old behaviour through this gnome-shell extension:

    extensions.gnome.org/extension

  3. Иногда переключаюсь на гном, и после разных WM, привычка кучи рабочих столов дает о себе знать.

Но поддержка жестов на тачпаде из коробки, это все-таки бомба

  4. Not yet but close : « Not yet, @3v1n0 has a few follow ups which I'll review and then we're planning to merge 41 support. I or @micheleg will likely create a release later this week or early next week assuming all goes well. »

  5. Ubuntu 21.10 Beta Released, This is What’s New

We’re just a few short weeks away from the final Ubuntu 21.10 release, but first things first: a beta. Yes, Ubuntu 21.10 beta is now available to download. Developers and non-developers alike can go hands on with the “Impish Indri” to try it out ahead of a stable release on October 14, 2021. Those who install the Ubuntu 21.10 beta can upgrade to the final version (when it arrives) just by installing all updates — and I do mean all — as they arrive down the chute. Intro out of the way, let’s take a look at what’s new! Ubuntu :sys_more_orange:

  6. I got used to #fedora and #gnome40 , but today I have use #ubuntu 21.04 with gnome 3.38. I really like the trackpad gestures and everything that gnome40 brings. It really breaks my workflow 🤓

  7. I’m enjoying #GNOME40 so far. Disabled some customizations, extensions & shortcuts along with the update and got used to the new interactions. Trying to stick with the defaults, unless something *really* bothers me.

Currently enabled extensions and how much I “need” each:

    - AppIndicator/Notifier icons 💯
    - Auto Move Windows 🤷
    - GameMode ❓
    - Impatience 💓
    - Pamac Updates Indicator
    - Places Status Ind. 🤷
    - User Themes 💯
    - Workspace Indicator 🤷

  8. Nautilus 40 Arrives in Ubuntu 21.10 Daily Builds

Nautilus 40 is winging its way to the Ubuntu 21.10 daily builds. While it’s arrival isn’t the most newsworthy event set to occur this cycle, Nautilus 40 carries a small crop of improvements and features that Impish daily testers will want to have a play about with. Such as? Well, this update to the famed file manager finally lets you sort files by creation date in the list view (a long-standing ask); is said to relay ‘more accurate’ file transfer and copy estimates; and improves tab completion in the location entry bar (accessed by pressing ctrl + l). Another area :sys_more_orange:

  10. Upgraded last night from 20.04 to 21.04 on my main rig. The uograde was slow and a bit nerve-racking. In the end, I must say that desktop is quite nice. I no longer need installed. I hope this DE carries on into . Otherwise, it is on a different distro as a replacement.

  12. GNOME 40 Lands in Ubuntu 21.10 Daily, This is What it Looks Like

GNOME 40 has finally landed in Ubuntu 21.10. A few folk were worried Ubuntu might not ship GNOME 40 at all in its upcoming release, but today’s batch of impish-proposed updates allay those fears completely. :sys_more_orange:

  14. Dash to Panel Extension Now Supports GNOME 40

Dash to Panel now works with GNOME 40. The latest release of this perennially popular GNOME Shell extension adds full support for the rejigged GNOME 40 desktop, including its horizontal workspace switcher, and immersive app :sys_more_orange:
