Yesterday my spouse & I finally finished the GLOOMHAVEN: JAWS OF THE LION campaign!
We started the game back in 2022, and played through ~15 or so scenarios. Then we put it aside, and didn't pick it up again until May of *this* year. I think our characters were starting to fall behind on the power curve, so sessions were turning into lengthy slogs. When we resumed in May, we reduced the scenario difficulty level by 1, which alleviated the problem.
JAWS OF THE LION is a smaller version of the full GLOOMHAVEN, where the campaign is something like 95 scenarios long. I now know I don't even need to *think* about trying the full game; if you played once a week, that's about 2 years even if you never lose a scenario and have to repeat it.
There were still a few unused location stickers. Some were for scenarios tied to characters we weren't using, like the Voidwarden. I think two were from a branch in the storyline where you can go to either the docks or a warehouse. But one comes from a City card that we never drew, so we're going to play that one as a coda.

When we bought the house, there was a corner perfect for a dining room but there are two of us, and the small table in the kitchen is plenty. So, I suggested a gaming table where games don't have to be cleared off to eat all the time. Perfect decision! Now we fight in analog scenarios together against monsters. We still don't have a couch. It's fine.

Reading the rule book today, I kept wondering if they switched from the unnecessarily binary "he or she" to "they" at some point in the later prints. We've had the game for a while and have the fourth printing of the rule book. Anyone got a newer version to check for me? I don't want to email them to suggest the change if they've already done that :)

One of my fav hobbies is boardgames. I don't get to play much cause people at work that wanna play mostly likes quizz games or "1 page rule" games. And while I do enjoy a good deal of fun party boardgames (not quizz games, hate those) I also like the more "heavy" games. And today it's finally time to delve back into Frosthaven with a friend after a hiatus of a good deal of months. The x-haven games are my top games I've played so looking forward to a day of thinking about strategies.
