Researchers have identified space-based #GNSS interference from Russian satellites. The paper (linked in the article below) is an extremely interesting read; it's a telling point that the interference affects #GPS, #Beidou, and #Galileo...but NOT #GLONASS.

Hat jemand folgendes Verhalten in einem Zug der Baureihe 440 beobachtet?

Zwei verschiedene Empfänger (Garmin eTrex 32x, Samsung Galaxy A52 4G) empfangen kein #GPS-Signal. Beim Garmin auch nach Reboot nicht.

Draußen auf dem Bahnsteig (beim Garmin inzwischen die Batterien entfernt) klappt alles.

Die Datenerfassung für #OpenStreetMap während der Bahnreise musste ich abbrechen, weil mein Garmin mit #GLONASS allein zu wenig Satelliten für einen stabilen, guten Fix empfing. 😔

My newest topic I am trying to understand better: #GNSS

While trying to write about #NTP as well as #PTP another world opened up as well. Global Navigation Satellite System or #GNSS which is most often the source of time. Digging through the different Satellite constellations #GPS , #GALILEO , #BAIDU , #GLONASS and understanding the differences was interesting.

I am still digging deeper. Anyone with knowledge, is highly welcome to educate me. ☺️👍

I have identified the satellite at least! It is a Russian Glonass unit - Cosmos 2534.

@simsus Der von #Galileo genutzte Frequenzbereich darf sich nach massivem Druck der #USA ausdrücklich nicht mit dem von #GPS überschneiden, *damit* Galileo unabhängig von GPS gestört werden kann. Stören dürfte nötigenfalls auch so praktiziert werden, auch wenn es für Galileo (oder die anderen #GNSS: #BeiDou oder #GLONASS) m.W. keine Störungskarten gibt (kennt jemand welche?).
