  1. RE: mastodon.ie/@IrishStewPodcast/

Looking forward to having my funny bone tickled by Paddy Cullivan as he takes on the life of Michael Collins next week at the New York Irish Center. Lots of other dates and locations available - see details below

  2. William Butler Yeats was born 159 years ago #OnThisDay in #Dublin, so I decided to record one of my favorite poems: "Sailing to Byzantium."

I first read this #poem decades ago in school with little understanding. Now, it resonates with me, its ideas unfolding with the passage of time as I approach the age when Yeats composed these wonderful lines in 1927.

    I hope you enjoy it

  3. Delighted to be featuring the Eric Favors story on the @IrishStewPodcast

The #ShotPut and #TrackAndField brought me to #NYC on athletics scholarship. In some respects, Eric’s story of an American born man with #IrishHeritage is playing in reverse.

That said Eric is far more talented than I was and will likely represent #Ireland at this year’s #Olympics

I hope you can give the episode a listen

  4. Delighted to have had the opportunity to talk with Elizabeth Stack of the Irish American Heitage Museum about the history and culture of Irish America and what I've learned from 3 years of podcasting focusing on #Ireland and its diaspora

  5. Rhasidat Adeleke tore another lump of the #Irish 400m record yesterday in California. At 20, she is now unquestionably one of the world’s best in the single race.

No doubt more is to come as the season ultimately progresses to the August World #TrackAndField Championships championships in Budapest

  6. Interesting piece on the need to adopt planning regulations supportive of low rise high density housing. Draws attention to 100 year old regulations which encourage urban sprawl and stand in the way of bringing more housing on line in #Dublin

  7. 3) A strong thumbs up to the Clontarf Castle Hotel. It has a fabulous blend of history along with the comfort of modern and thoughtfully designed rooms, all with easy access to #Dublin’s City Center

  8. Found 3 - 4 feet deep in a #Cavan bog in 1930, Ralaghan Man is over 3,000 years old and is housed in #Dublin’s National Museum Of Ireland.

Is this the oldest representation of an #Irish face?

  9. Back in #Dublin for the #solstice season and came upon the #birthplace of #author #OscarWilde who was born at 21 Westland on Oct 16, 1854. He would travel far and wide and become famous in every English speaking country, but he was a #Dubliner
