Oh my stars! My smile couldn't be wider. The global framework for reparatory justice has been so long in coming I despaired of any progress being made in my lifetime. We, in Canada, must acknowledge our part in and work toward reparation of past injustices globally just as we must work toward it at home.

"Let us not embark on separate journeys, but let us today reflect the unity of purpose, the recognition that whether it is through advocacy or advisory opinions or actions, our role is to ensure that there is no retreat from our requests and that we recognise that repair comes after recognition,” she (Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados) said. “For in all that we do in the rest of our lives, where damage is perpetrated, repair is always, always required."
