You'll recall that part of the #brexit thinking (I say 'thinking', but you know what I mean) was that freed from the shackles of #Europe we could become #GlobalBritain...
Well, #RishiSunak's moves to further dilute the #green measures the #Tories had relatively weakly supported, even further looks to be causing the country to become less global, in that we are heading into a very small group of countries who think #climatechange is not so much of a problem!

He will not mention it for two reasons
1 - Such a statement would lose votes in marginals & threaten victory
2 - Such an objective is not achievable within a single parliament so why bleed votes for it & then be accused by those like you of selling out later?
What happens for subsequent GE is another matter - #labour have never subscribed to the #globalBritain delusion so expect rapprochement with our own continent that is for the long term

Maybe - but significant they do not even campaign as "the party of Rejoin" - it means they do not think it will attract more votes than it repels
The journey towards closer cooperation with our neighbours is not going to be accomplished in a single step - getting rid of the #globalBritain fantasy from the body politic will be a start.
