With all the getting brow-beaten by life and CPTSD, I don't have many "glimmers" left… Except when I rediscover certain bits of music. It's been a while since I listened to The Mikado top to bottom, and I forgot how utterly delightful the "With laughing song and merry dance / Then let the throng our joy advance" choral bit is.
Starting about 2:21 (busts loose about 2:46) - bit of an interlude - then a reprise until 4:20ish with Katisha's entrance. (This Act I finale track also features one of Pitti-Sing's (who I played ca. 2015 in a local production) little mini solos.) (Being one of the few people on stage who could take that high Bb for "joyous, joyous shout" in the chorus was a thrill, too.)

“Glimmers are… tiny moments of joy, the moments of ‘okayness’ that take us away from being stuck in this challenging world we’re in,” she told the Huff Post . But she’s careful to point out that these moments are not about pretending bad days and bad things don’t exist.

A few days ago I had messed up the bus routes in a strange city on my way through the chilly rain to visit my wife in the hospital. But to get to the right bus, I was tromping along near the docks, and there was a pelican! A pelican! It made me so happy.

I'm sitting in my lounger in the backyard, having a coffee, hearing Sunday lawnmowers, birds tweeting and bees buzzing. My dog just did her rounds of the yard, touching my knee with her wet nose on her way past.
Nearly time to get moving as I need to do the groceries and some more report writing.
