It is best remembered for its 1950s #rockAndRoll version by #FatsDomino. #GlennMiller peaked at no. 2 on the Billboard pop singles chart in 1940 with his recording on RCA #BluebirdRecords featuring #RayEberle on vocals. In 1941, #GeneAutry made a recording of this song for #RegalZonophone. He also sang it in the 1941 movie #TheSingingHill.

In 1991, Miller's recording of "Moonlight Serenade" was inducted into the #GrammyHallOfFame.
