In November 2004 I went on a trip to Somerset. We visited Wells Cathedral, stayed in a youth hostel and had a spiffing time. One day we went to Glastonbury and having admired the abbey and King Arthur’s grave it was misty and raining. A few hardy souls set off up the Tor while the rest of us retreated to the pub saying “maybe another time”.
Well, I’ve finally made it to “another time”… -

For a very, very brief moment or two, I was almost alone at the top of Glastonbury Tor. I’ve never managed to be the only human up there, but it’ll happen. Still, today was beautiful because it FELT like I was alone, and had these two gorgeous crows hovering just overhead. They came much closer to me than the photo shows, but I didn’t dare move to scare them off. 💚
