Eight Swedish glaciers disappeared in 2024, expert says.

Eight of Sweden's 277 glaciers melted completely during 2024 and are now extinct due to global warming, the head of the Tarfala Research Station in northern Sweden has said.

Another 30 glaciers are at risk, glaciology professor Nina Kirchner said.

I really enjoyed @Felienne's narrative about narratives about Computer Science yesterday. She applied some of the ideas presented in the Glaciers, Gender and Science paper (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0309132515623368) to her experiences in the Computer Science / Programming Languages communities.
