    I almost forgot to post this update; my Tom Thumb peas are producing. This photo was taken 3 weeks ago on May 26 and shows just one of my two dozen plants.

    I made a fab pea soup, but we also ate A LOT of them raw straight from the pods.

    I grow a lot of different peas every spring. The varieties change from time-to-time, but I always make sure to plant Tom Thumb peas. They are compact, prolific and tasty, and thrive in the ground or in containers.
