This is a leased #Stadler #SMILE High Speed Train, like the ones in service for #SBB🇨🇭Gotthard Base Tunnel #Giruno workings from #Zurich or #Basel to #Lugano, #Milan and beyond. On the new-built #Koralmbahn line we reach a top speed of 250kph.

The #SBB #Giruno has been the subject of much discussion due to the new ECE services to Hamburg. However, the 2026 timetable also includes an extension to the south, with one daily Giruno #EuroCity service from Zurich to Florence (instead of Bologna). I am well aware that opinions on the Giruno are divided, so this connection is only suitable for Giruno supporters. By avoiding the high-speed lines and a lot of standing still while bypassing Milan, the travel time is seven hours! (1/2)

Vorher beim Verabschieden mit @Martin betrachtet und gesagt, dass ich das Wuffmiau, oder mit der anderen mit ihm betrachteten Seite Miauwuff, schon lange mal @lostAm zeigen wollte. Aber ich fand damals kein Bild davon. Ich finde diese Kennzeichnung des Kinderbereichs immer noch toll. 🥰

Heute Morgen habe ich auf der Bahnstrecke von #Bülach nach #Winterthur einen SBB #Giruno gesehen. Ich war leider zu langsam für ein Foto. Muss eine Überführung oder Ähnliches gewesen sein, weil dort normalerweise nur eine kleine S-Bahn von Thurbo fährt[1]. Ich kann mir jedenfalls keine Umleitung vorstellen, welche Sinn ergibt. Weiss jemand, ob das öfter und geplant vorkommt? Bin kein Trainspotter, aber das wäre tatsächlich ein spannendes Motiv gewesen 🤔
