  1. Did you know ? With 56,1% of participants pinned in our doping directory, Giro 2001 (won by Simoni Gilberto) was perhaps the dirtiest in the history of this race. buff.ly/3kWrnuG #Giro #Giro2024 #Giro2001

  3. The #giro2024 was amazing.. but also dull.

It was great watching Pogacar and just wondering what his limit is..

    but ..

The top 3 on GC was set on stage 2, and was mostly neutralized as UAD just attrited them.

The game of "Will Roman Bardet stay in the top 10 ?" was the same as ever.

Watching Thymen Arensman hang in against Antonio Tiberi was interesting though

  4. And why was Milan not relegated for slip-streaming behind cars before the sprint and then elbowing not just one but two opponents during the sprint? Merlier was relegated for a much less obvious offense in Francavilla al Mare stage 11 sprint.
That's not a good look, Italy.

  5. So yes, i did enjoy watching the #Giro2024. What a race and what a beautiful country and language (freshened up my Italian by watching it on RAI2).

But then their fascist prime minister had to show up at the prize ceremony and spoil it all.

    Vaffanculo #Meloni!

  6. It was so tight. But Pogačar FAILED. After bowing, clapping and so on, he's probably NOT GOING TO WIN by more than 10 minutes. Nice rides by Rubio, VPP and Storer, and of course white hero Tiberi. No Intergiro for Alaphilippe (99%), but the intermediate sprint fight vs breakaway king Pietrobon (3 pts ahead) will be on.

Apart from that, #Giro2024 stage 21 should be all about celebrations and the final sprint. Last time a breakaway made it was in 2015 (Keisse and Durbridge).

  7. Mr #Pogiro
    Beeindruckend.
Erstes Mal im Leben in Rom, 6 mal gewonnen, und seit Wochen im #MagliaRosa

Grats auch an #G an seinem heutigen 38 Geburtstag. Erneut am Podium

  8. #giro2024 Meno male che sembra ci sia bel tempo per affrontare il Monte Grappa 🚴‍♂️

  9. Plapp battling his own stomach, but more importantly, Vendrame continued the tradition of Italian puncheurs with a cheeky downhill attack on #Giro2024 stage 19. Although his winning salute kind of resembles a less great Italian tradition, that's not what he meant to do! :D

Today marks the dernier of the Alps through two 18.1-km ascents of Monte Grappa (8.1%) + that small kick on the descent (Il Pianaro: 1.5 km, 9%; 2nd time with bonuses). Can Pogačar say goodbye in style?

  10. Merlier vs Milan, and Groves not far behind. That's sprinters' #Giro2024 - with the Belgian narrowly taking honors on the penultimate flat stage. Great day for Fiorelli too as he strengthened his Intergiro lead.

Stage 19 comes with a promise of cycling pop, even though its stars might surprise you. While the top 15 is likely to choose conservative approach, fun shall be provided by fast and relentless 157-km fight for the breakaway and then among the escapees.

  12. After visiting Poland (Forlì), #Giro2024 is headed to "England" aka Padova. The finishing city has over 200 000 inhabitants and ancient, probably Trojan origins. It boasts the world's oldest anatomical theater and botanical garden. It's also a birthplace of Titus Livius, 1st-BC/AD-century author of stunning 142-book (hi)story of Rome. And between 1922 and 2022, it hosted 61 editions of Giro del Veneto. Trentin took his most recent win there.

Stage 18 starts at 1:10 pm.

  13. Quintana couldn't do it ahead of Steinhauser, but the other way around it worked. What a ride! Meanwhile, Alaphilippe moved just 4 points behind Fiorelli in the Intergiro classification (actually so smart to reintroduce it in this "no GC" year!).

#Giro2024 stage 18's stormy (65%) afternoon will see tired sprinters using the space left by their even more affected opponents to express the hunger accumulated on less well-executed pancakes. Now! - Or in Rome.

  14. 🚴‍♂️ #giro2024 facts: Pellizzari 🇮🇹, yesterday 2nd, arrived 12th at the 環台賽 / Tour of Taiwan in 2023.

  15. Oh piss off, Alaphilippe again on a camera-hogging excursion?! He knows he can't win this type of stage. This is so clearly only aimed at getting air time, that it stinks.

  16. Passo Brocon is a fitting finish as it played a major role in Charly Gaul's historic 1956 ride in the weather sub-yday, destroying his rivals super-Pogačar. Starting the final mountain test outside the top 20, punctures sent him far behind even then. But on Brocon, he passed virtually pink Nino Defilippis, who passed out in brutal headwind and rain/snow (45 DNF's in total). Eventually, year after Magni won Giro by 13 secs, Gaul did 35 times that in a day!

    #Giro2024 S17 starts at 12:30 pm.
