I say this with full admission that I am new to #DeepPurple, haven't done any background reading on the band's history, and my #music knowledge is limited. But FWIW: a lot of people say that Ian #Gillan was the band's best vocalist. But listening to their full discography in chronological order, things start to sound stale by 1972/1973 to me. In Stormbringer, I feel like David #Coverdale and the band bring a refreshing, bluesy sound. Looking forward to hearing the rest of their albums.

I was today years old when I made this #music connection. I heard the lead singer of #DeepPurple hit a certain note on "Hard Lovin' Man" and thought "wait -- is that Jesus?" (in Jesus Christ Superstar)? Yes indeed! Now I'm going down the Ian #Gillan rabbit hole.

Thank goodness for that! Might not be his greatest song, might be his greatest to date. Performed with style and panache and his looks to be a fun gang to hang with.
