Modern #GiantBomb really is a skin walker man.
- Dan is great as always but can only go so far when he has no one really to bonce off of.
- Jane is typical San Francisco cringe who just seems lost in life,
- Grubb is a larper "leaker" who does a daily show talking about what is on r/gaminsleaksandrumors but really adds NOTHING when it comes to back and forth when talking with the guys and reminds me of that friend you have in school who acts like a expert on things but responds in a way that show he does not know much when he goes deep on things.
- Mike is fine I think what holds him back is that he puts out the most generic content and acts like it is new (Like charging for a Portal 2 lets play in 2026 what are we doing)
- Bakalar is enjoyable but much like Dan since he has no one good to bounce off of they are held back. Does not help he hardly does any content that is not the skin walker Bombcast or Voicemail dump truck
- The other two guys who do the site (could not be bothered to get their names) and background stuff you can tell are not use to broadcasting and talking to a crowd and really lack the CHA stat any time they are on screen and slug down the experience
I tried for like a year after they went "independent" to support them with a premium sub but iust just had to stop because the content they were out putting was just not good. Like why the hell are we doing a soulless Iron Man run (except he has nine live) of Skyrim ran by a guy who is not funny? Why are we charging for 15 min videos where Grubb gives uninformed opinions on things he knows nothing about? Marry me Tomodachi was fine since they brought back Abby who again had to carry and the whole staff could not even bother showing up for every episode.
It is all just bad and aside from from blight club everything they are doing is just rehashes from the Gerstmann era but with no charm. I use to like seeing people come and go from the GB crew and seeing as how they fit into the mold and what they would add some are better than others. But with this being lead by Grubb it just feels like a big larp. -

Just seen what's happened with #Polygon and #Giantbomb over the last few days; pretty sucky.
I wasn't a massive reader of Polygon, but I'm a big #Besties fan and have a lot of respect for Russ Frushtick and Chris Plante and I hope they land on their feet, wherever they go next.
The Giantbomb one, now that hurts. I've not been an active member of that community for a few years now, but for the best part of a decade it was my entire thing. I've watched hundreds of hours of their video and consumed thousands of hours of their audio content. It was absolutely essential viewing/listening to me for years.
Without Giantbomb, their video content and their podcasts I wouldn't be the person I am today, and I mean that with every fibre of my being. I've laughed and cried along with, and because of that ridiculously talented group of people and both the crew and the site as a whole will always hold a very special place in my heart.
So yeah. Fuck Ryan Davis I guess.
