Ernie Anderson was such an incredible voice over legend. A voice built from 100% raw gravitas. His network TV voice-overs in the 1980s were a large part of the appeal of ABC for me. And he knew his worth and, according to him, ABC handsomely compensated for that sound. (Can you imagine the guy who replaced him? Jesus, what big shoes to fill.)
Been listening to interviews with him and he seemed like a really amazing, charming, fowl-mouthed guy in civilian life. :)
Here's his final interview in 1996, apparently. He passed in early 1997.
