Finally got around to playing (and then quickly finishing!) Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, which is long overdue given how much I liked the Ace Attorney games.
Not much to say, other than that I liked the twisting plot and somewhat silly character designs, and would like to see more of this kind of game design.
Which is to actually to say, are there any other games of this style folk would like to recommend to me?

And so, the story of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective comes to an end. We found out who we are, we found out what happened, we managed to avert fate, and, well, I have to admit it's a great game. Very enjoyable :blobcatThumbsUp:
However, since we have now cleared Chapter 18 (which was the last one), that also means I'll move on to the next game. For that purpose, I'll publish a new game selection poll Before Long™.

Well, what can I say? Today's three chapters did a bunch of story reveals, and also took exceptionally little time—it only took me about 1 hour and 40 minutes to clear another three chapters of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. The reveals are quite significant spoilers, though, so I won't be summarizing them here. Suffice it to say, however, that things are beginning to become coherent. Slowly, but surely.

Another three chapters done, and yet again we end up with more questions than answers.
Who was the person that was shot by Detective Jowd that would make this event so significant as to make the entire case a matter of national security? What happened over at the Justice Minister's? Do the NVGs used by the Special Prison guards really not use auto-gating, a technology that allows NVGs to adapt to ambient brightness and sudden flashes of light, and may have been available as early as 1998? What does Jowd know that would be a stain on Inspector Cabanela's otherwise white jacket?
Nobody knows. Maybe we will, in a few chapters' time.

Mhm… Some interesting revelations have been uncovered today. Lynne apparently shooting Sissel for reasons unknown (but which I have a theory for), Prisoner D99 painting an image of Sissel (“a face I must never forget”)… and now Lynne seems to be in trouble at Point X/the Chicken Kitchen!? Things are getting weirder and weirder. Let's hope next week's three chapters provide some clarity.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
I never played this back in the day on the DS. If you're in that same boat, seek this one out now. Without wanting to spoil anything, the story is great, the writing is hilarious, and the gameplay has the ability to stump you but then make you feel like a genius once you've figured it out. A truly lovely game.
