The people I encountered were hostile and unfriendly and got the curtain moving to peek at me driving through, stuff I last encountered years ago on a Sunday in Utah polygamy territory.

It's an old mining ghost town with a gazillion old cars, buses, junk galore, and relics from the silver-mining days in Nevada. Mine shafts, an old chapel. Movies have been filmed there; it's a treasure trove for photographers. Worth the trip, not far from Vegas. If you drive down along the canyon from Nelson, there's a beautiful view of the water and Arizona on the other side.
