We are excited to welcome Marina DiStefano to #GHGAtalks today! She will talk about "The Gene Curation Coalition: A Global Effort to Harmonize Gene-Disease Evidence Resources"!
DiStefano argues for curated gene-disease databases. As for some diseases different diagnostic panels are available - the number of genes these include however varies, demonstrating that standards and consensus is needed, for which genes are valid disease genes.

One example of Privacy-Enhancing Technology is Secure Multiparty Computation: Computing joint inputs without revealing individual data and no trusted third party, revealing only the prescribed output while delivering the correct results.
Homomorphic encryption is one solution: it does not matter if data is encrypted or computed first.
