Just scheduled surgery for my trigger thumb. It will be my first medical treatment on #Medicare.

We tried the steroid shot and although it relieved the pain and reduced the swelling, the thumb still "clicks." I want my left hand functioning normally!

Just made my first doctor appointment on Medicare. No, I'm not on Medicare yet, but my healthcare provider is so far booked out that I figured I may as well take the appointment AFTER my June 30 birthday when I AM on Medicare.

And yes, the appointment is for a rheumatologist. How appropriate. #GettingOldSucks #CurrentlyBeatsAlterative

I'm usually advertising immune. I'm an analytical shopper who does tons of research before I buy anything. But I just saw an ad for some stuff that's supposed to provide support and comfort for joints in aging people, and I immediately bought a bottle on Amazon. It's made by a reputable manufacturer.

My body fails me and at the moment, I'm pretty much in pain every time I try and walk.

If you are young, exercise daily, control your weight, and stretch frequently.

I purchased a Zima Cube NAS kit along with a pair of 12TB drives, had brought it downstairs to begin putting it together at one point. Needed to wait for either a hardwired network connection or a good wireless card.

Was thinking earlier this morning that I have no idea where I put that thing at. I'm kinda a sad panda right now. 😐

Mowed half the lawn and had to take a break. I hope this isn’t a new normal thing… #gettingoldsucks

Now that we’ve switched to 5:00p for two of our thrice weekly workouts with a trainer, I have the following observations:

1. Dinner must not just be planned, but prepped prior to the workout, else I don’t have the energy to make anything moderately healthy. Or with any level of difficulty.

2. I am highly suspicious of anyone who works out and then makes plans to do anything else other than collapse in a quivering mass of exhausted muscles.

I've finally had to upgrade to multi-focal glasses - which I will admit are fantastic. Except for close up / small screen computer work, so I've got reading glasses for that. All of which means I've now graduated from hunting around the house for one set of glasses to trying to work out which ones I've got on or hunting for two sets.

We drove the #Dempster on that same trip (2008?) -- out to the first ferry -- but didn't see anything there like the millions of gnats along the #Dalton.

I really wanted to see the church at #Inuvik, but it was not to be.

We turned around at the first ferry (unfortunately) because the ferry operators hadn't graded the opposite bank of the river properly. We saw them nearly rip off the rear bumper of an RV coming the other way, by getting it hung up on the bank as it was getting on the ferry.

We pushed it a bit too fast on the way back, and broke the stupidly-weak joint between the cab and cabover -- sheared off every rivet holding the two together. It's a REALLY beautiful drive -- but sometimes you can't see the washboarded areas in time to slow down. So some extra caution is warranted.

I'd love to do it again, especially now that the Dempster goes to the arctic ocean, but #GettingOldSucks.
