  1. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of participating in a fireside chat at the LinkedIn Bellevue office. Towards the end of the Q&A session, a software engineer early in their career asked me, “What is the most important skill to learn?”

Naturally, they anticipated the answer might involve something like AI, post-quantum cryptography, or perhaps even cybersecurity.
    My response, however, was simple:

“Learn how to get stuff done.”

I cannot take credit for this impactful statement, as I first heard it during an interview with President Barack Obama a few years ago.

Reflecting on my own career, the roles and experiences where I felt most engaged and accomplished all had one common thread — I was getting things done. Conversely, the times I felt the most frustrated, unfulfilled, or unsupported were those when I wasn’t.

    RT @NYCMayor
Our city’s public spaces are too important to fall through the cracks of bureaucracy, and now they won’t.

As someone who knows how to think big and #GetStuffDone for New Yorkers, Ya-Ting Liu is the right person to serve as the city’s first-ever chief public realm officer.
