First, everyone deserves food, period. I don't care who or what they do or fail to do. Housing, medical care, utilities and internet, too, to be honest. It's 2025. All of those are basic needs.
Second, I'd rather tax dollars go to the non-rich, for any reason, or no reason, than to the rich, for any reason.
The rich should pay their own way, and the poor have the taxpayer assistance they need to live, instead of merely existing.
People need to be treated like people, not servants, serfs, or slaves.

#Vanderbilt and #Michigan certainly belong there, and would be on any legitimate list of ‘best universities.’ But the brightest and most creative students don’t pursue #HigherEducation just to ‘#GetAJob.’ 🤷🏻♂️

@alice The "just get a job" people are a bit of a danger to society generally. About 10% of the population will always be incapabable of "productive work", often because they are too busy meeting some other unmet need.
Part of the reason i support a #ubi. It doesn't need to be massive, it just needs to acknowledge that a person needs food and shelter to do what they feel tthey need to do.
Trials of UBIs show people work more with a UBI which is sort of amazing too.

Note to self and students: don't stop #innovating because some #corporation is not willing or able to pay you. Keep your notes. Make your plans. Scrounge parts from your junk box and build stuff. Don't be afraid to "let the smoke out" of the damned thing. 😂 Share your #knowledge. #hack. Learn #steam and #stem not to just #getajob. You are worth much much more than that. Learn #stem so that you can separate the #hype from the #science & not get ripped off. Learn #stem so you can #teach others.

Personally, I think devoting an entire subreddit to being obsessed with people owning dogs and bitching about it in its posts is a sign of something deeper going on with you…but why listen to me? I’m not a psychologist 🤷🏼♀️

@THORp Maybe look for an entry level Security Operations gig at an MSSP. Deepwatch is an example firm. Mandiant and Secureworks are others. I think of it as the "Helpdesk" equivalent in cybersecurity. Once you're in at a place like one of those, after you get your feet wet it's usually pretty easy to move. (Mind you, you'll be competing with others, etc.) #blueteam #getajob ;P #career
