  1. Google got rid of the back button long ago and instituted a swipe gesture for it. I think this is bullshit.
Swiping is too generic of a gesture used by too many programs. So many times I'm trying to exit an app and instead I'm archiving emails or dismissing notifications or changing the tab-in-view. None of those things are wanted, none of them were intentional or expected, and most of them can't be undone. It's fucking stupid. SYSTEM NAVIGATION SHOULD NOT BE THIS RISKY.

It wasn't even a real button and they couldn't let us have it, ffs

  17. I have Tourette’s. a pretty mild case. I’m fine with it – I can control it, or rather blend it into my daily life, my movements. it’s all good, I don’t feel bad about it. people usually don’t even notice – even the ones who’ve known me for years.

BUT! things get really weird when I use my #apple devices.

oh man, that’s when the tics start being a real issue.

but not real tics – the ones #apple makes me do. the ones I actually love. I keep moving my head in random directions, answering #siri through my #airpods. I wave one hand around to control my apple watch. and sometimes the other hand shakes too – enough to activate the damn “shake to undo” gesture on my iphone.

    now that must look strange.

  24. A long time ago, when I've used the #Opera browser (the real one), I've discovered mouse #gestures. Even though I've only used the basic ones like back / forward / reload / close tab, I've found them brilliant. To this day, I can't comprehend why not only modern browsers rejected this feature, but also why it didn't become widespread across desktop GUIs.

But then, today the peak application #UX is a website packed in a vulnerable low quality embedded browser. And designers are blindly trying to copy bad mobile designs into desktop PC applications, with no consideration how ill fit they are.
