Hi fediverse hoping to get some advice for future canvas prepping. I am a newb with canvas prep and I made some gesso using the recipe 3xcornstarch 3xbakingsoda 1xcraftglue and water til I got a consistency just a bit thinner than pancake batter and no lumps.When I use it on the canvas it seems to "clump to itself" if that makes sense. It's like the water/glue kind of unbinds right away leaving the solids to themselves. The result is patchy sections of gesso, some thicker some thinner, which I've decided I will just sand down a bit (or not?). The canvas is pre-primed board.
So is that an ingredients thing? Too much solids, too little glue? Can I use a roller instead? Any advice would be much appreciated.

This years #CastCamp is over and its time to look ahead! The date of next years event is already set and we see each other again: 01 to 08 February 2025. We've chosen again the region of Blavand in the mid of Denmark facing the North Sea. We've already booked one house there. But I'd love to see many more new people there and hope, that someone is willing to book an other house.

I’ve just realized that I’ve posted all the photos of the first wave of art therapy. I’m not in the mood to take more pics right now, so here’s something that’s not done and I’m not sure how to finish it. Originally I was going to go for a stained glass window or Stasis kinda thing but not so sure now. I’ve stared at it on and off since right before Beyond Light dropped and nothing feels right. All gesso, string, and a tiny bit of blueish-grey watercolor.
