Anyone else watch the movie "Orwell 2+2 = 5" yet?
I read 1984 about 40 years ago, so I had forgotten how prescient so much of it is. Think I'll go back and reread it.
Once you have created a post-truth society where there are no facts, no baseline, no shared reality other than the one that can be made up on the spot to suit those in power, then you can tell big lies just as easily as you can tell little lies. He was writing that book in the late 1940s, but the authoritarian playbook is timeless.

Last time I streamed my internet kept cutting out resulting in OBS and Mario Kart Wii both disconnecting, so hopefully it's better this time? I couldn't even find out what was wrong since my internet seemed to stabilize after the fact. Oh well, there will be races, there will be politics, and I'll talk more extensively about my thoughts on 1984, having recently read it for the first time.
