But Gorgeous George has one remarkably consistent attribute: ego. Whatever George's motives, his actions usually serve to boost George's ego.
And so it is with his decision to stand in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. He has no chance of winning, but he has a good chance of getting lots of attention for George.
