Not evidence such a number exists, evidence some are hidden and just their estimate/inference. A lot of assumptions to arrive at that inference with a very flawed database (not one author noticed?).

No evidence that such a number exists, just evidence some are hidden and their estimate/inference. A lot of assumptions are part of arriving at that inference. The database is quite flawed, and not one author noticed?

"This place is located here in the desert outskirts of #ImperialCounty and in the neighboring #YumaCounty.
"Southern Empire Resources Corp. (SMP Gold) is a company based out of British Columbia, Canada, which for years now has been attempting to mine for gold within these Imperial County areas, specifically the #CargoMuchacho and #IndianPass regions, in a project of mineral exploration for the purposes of extracting gold that they are calling the Oro Cruz Project.
"'We firmly believe that Oro Cruz has exploration potential for more than a million ounces,' states SMP Gold’s project mission on its website. 'We’ll explore the property using modern geological theory and high tech methods of exploration, and see what we can do.'

“More than 100 new designs discovered in and around Peru’s ancient Nazca plain and surrounding areas could bring new information to light about the mysterious pre-Columbian artworks that have intrigued scientists and visitors for decades.
Following two years of field surveys with aerial photos and drones, Peruvian and Japanese researches from Yamagata University earlier this month reported the discovery of 168 new designs at the Unesco World Heritage site on Peru’s southern Pacific coast.
The geoglyphs, huge figures carved into the South American desert, date back more than 2,000 years and represent humans, cats, snakes, killer whales, birds and native camalids – animals such as llamas, guanacos and alpacas…”
