  1. guess who's getting 106fps on an I2C OLED1309 powered by an ESP32 comfortably running on one core, while the other core is dedicated to being a 303-inspired synth at 192KHz???

    👉THIS GUY👈

    I'm gonna count the 128x64 GUI as for #GENUARY4 "Low res" 😁 #genuary2026 #genuary

  2. Prompt: "Lowres. An image or graphic with low resolution, where details are simplified or pixelated."

  3. Another #genuary2026 sketch, for prompt 4: "low res".

I used the excellent geometrize.co.uk to represent an input image (a portrait) using a bunch of rectangles (500 to be precise), added hatches, and grouped them in 5 colors clusters.

If I were to do this again I might try other pens, because this color combination is a bit of a pain to the eye !

  4. #genuary2026, day 4:
Lowres. An image or graphic with low resolution, where details are simplified or pixelated.

  6. Genuary 2026, day 4: Lowres. ☁️

Clouds come from the following paintings:
    - Lakeside Landscape from Tavastia, by Hjalmar Munsterhjelm (kansallisgalleria.fi/en/object)
    - Syyspilviä, by Berndt Lindholm (kansallisgalleria.fi/en/object)
    - Cloud Study, by Eero Järnefelt (kansallisgalleria.fi/en/object)
    - Landscape from Savo, by Fridolf Weurlander (kansallisgalleria.fi/en/object)

  7. For #genuary4 - Low Resolution - I made a Julia set fractal with resolution animated starting at 6x6 pixels, increasing to 180x180 and back.

  8. Genuary 4: Low resolution
Genuary 5: Write Genuary, avoid using a font.

It's actually cheating for I did use a font, but I pixelated the characters myself from scratch.

  9. #genuary Day 4: "Lowres"

#tic80 is already pretty low resolution, so… let's go lower, I guess!

Had a lot of fun with this one – so many parameters to tweak! :D

  10. Yellow trains and a tram at dawn.

A pixelation effect that immediately manipulates the image captured by the smartphone camera. The monochrome tiles contain the original image as texture. Strictly speaking, not lowres.

This is a combination of photography and algorithms.

  11. #genuary2026 #genuary #genuary4 I'm using these prompts to iterate on h9, which is a mostly-SVG-based
geometric drawing tool, so this one posed an interesting challenge.

I decided I'd take the opportunity to try out my hardly-used Canvas backend.

One of the first things I made with h9 was a little doodle of moonlight on
water to play around with the drawables API.

I took that original vector sketch, switched the renderer to canvas
& set the size to 40x80 instead of 400x800.

  12. Today's prompt is low-res, so I made a bitcrushed version of FourJS, my WebGL site for exploring 4-D shapes:

    etc.mikelynch.org/genuary26/04

I want to make animated GIFs of these suitable for emojos

    (the original is here etc.mikelynch.org/fourjs/)

  13. I took one of the first images I made with h9 & switched it to the experimental canvas renderer instead of SVG. I then scaled the canvas 10x to get a pixelated effect-- two different pixel effect choices shown.
