  1. I worked a little more in my patterns. Now in the standard form...

  2. #MathArtMarch Day 6: Single Line
One single line (in a general sense) that draws 2025.
    #MathArt
    A repost from #genuary2025.

  3. It's never too late. I implemented an algorithm that transforms text in a hitomezashi pattern which resambles works from Julio Le Parc.

Here I used a short story by Borges.

  4. #genuary2025 #genuary25 Day 25: "One line that may or may not intersect itself."

  5. Prompt: Black on black.

(I deliberately skipped Prompt 3, "Exactly 42 lines of code." which seemed both too constricting and not constricting enough.)

  6. #genuary

    Layers upon layers upon layers.

I still like the basic idea here, but I couldn't make it work on multiple levels (how ironic).

I spent several hours trying to understand how color compositing works in general and in #qt in particular. I kind of got something fragile sort-of working.

When I gave up on Making It Perfect, I realized that looping a blizzard is unlikely to work.

Welp. This is a #learning #python #pyqtgraph project anyway and that goal was accomplished.

  7. Choosing pixels from a sorted or unsorted copy of a flowfield image depending on the hue of the original image. Anything from blue-green to purple-red gets copied, otherwise we see a sorted version.

  8. Quiet around here. Feels like everybody is recuperating after a busy month for some reason...

Here are the first ~20,000 digits of e, sorted from low to high within each row. 0 = dark blue and 9 = yellow. This could have worked for #genuary27 "no randomness or noise or trig." In my defense, I am very slow.

  9. #genuary2025 #genuary #genuary12 #genuary14: only black and white, subdivision. Combining the two prompts. Not in love with this, but can't tweak all day. Variation on the Koch curve.

Yes, I know it's February 1, and the world is on fire.

Edit 1: Not Sierpienski triangle! Edit 2: Here's the code: web.ludus.dev/?code=let+side_l

  10. It's February 1 and you know what that means!

    #GENUARY!!

This is my first ever entry. Prompt is "Vertical or horizontal lines only."

  11. Genuary 32: Conclusion

January is over and I just want to thank the organizing persons, the promptmakers and all the contributors for loads of inspiration!

I'm still l learning a lot lot about maths, programming, composition, colors, curves and shapes and of limitations of all kinds...

  12. Using #numpy.sort on a variation of the previous sketch, animating a few frames, but the color compression is brutal :(
Another thing: this is not "true" pixel sorting as I'm sorting each RGB chanel independently (but I like it anyway) .

  13. That's a wrap on #genuary2025, a month of coding to create images for a given theme. It was fun seeing all the creative works. Thanks to the #genartclub community and the organizers!

  14. Genuary 2025 Prompt for Day 31: "Pixel sorting."

I've been playing with various ways to sample and sort colors...and I'm not done yet. But I'll share some interesting buggy results, for now.

  15. Genuary 31: Pixel sorting

My genuary 24 submission, sorting into a sort of beachscape.

Animation is a bit slow, but you can see it (and code) here: openprocessing.org/sketch/2528

  16. #genuary31 Prompt: Pixel Sort

#artvsartist Style Finale for another awesome Genuary!
Thanks to the Organizers and co-participants, it was once again quite inspiring and challenging!

  17. #genuary30: Abstract map.

Didn't figure out how to make the roads less loopy 😀

    #genuary2025 #genuary

  18. #genuary30 - Abstract map. Here is an experiment with using Voronoi diagrams as the basis of a map. Random points in a grid are used as the basis of a Voronoi diagram, with map-like colors filled in. Here are a few results. #genuary #genuary2025

  19. "The End"

And that concludes my #genuary for this year #genuary2025

    My third so far

In my first Genuary back in 2023, for the last day #genuary31 I recall doing something similar where the prompt said "Deliberately break one of your previous images, take one of your previous works and ruin it."

  20. Genuary 2025 Prompt for Day 30: "Abstract map".

For this one, I decided to draw an imaginary city, with my glass dipping pen.

  21. Genuary 26 : Symmetry

    arielmartinperez.com/pages/202

As the month comes to an end, I'm struggling more and more to keep writing at the same time as carrying all my daily life chores, so this is going to be the last installment of this series. If anything, this challenge has helped me get back on track with writing code in processing and I've explored some other languages in the process. 1/2

  23. #genuary29 - "Grid based graphic design"

An excuse to mess with bezier curves (which I am still really bad at thinking about from a programmatic perspective).

Started out with just plain sticky notes, but it's far funnier with nonsense written on them.

    #genuary2025 Day 29: grid

An excuse to play with more optical illusions. Those black dots you see flitting through the grid? Those bright regions you see in the centers of the crosses? No you don't.

  25. Genuary 29: Gridworks

A regular grid, the line's distances follow the digits of PI and e.

    #genuary2025: Day 28 Infinite scroll

    Not that, exactly

Stars falling infinitely into Sagittarius A*

  27. Genuary 20: Architecture.

    arielmartinperez.com/pages/202

This one was a hard egg to crack. At first, I wanted to make something inspired by the Eiffel tower. But it turned out looking more organic than intended, like a close-up of hair, underwater tentacles or an ethereal forest. Maybe one day buildings will be as delicate as filaments floating up in the air, bending but never breaking.

  28. Genuary 23: Brutalism

    arielmartinperez.com/pages/202

A very belated brutalist sunset landscape drawing tool, that I coded mainly while on the plane. I love brutalism buildings but in small doses, I couldn't stand living in a city where everything is just gray concrete blocks. Just click anywhere to add brutalist-looking buildings (red shades are random, buildings are narrower the higher they are). Click and drag to draw glitchy-looking scarlet hills.

  29. #genuary25: One line that may or may not intersect itself.

I finally have basic L-systems in my procedural art tool!

  30. #genuary28 - Infinite Scroll. I'm tired of doom-scrolling on my phone so I'm using the definition of scroll as "An ornament or ornamental design that resembles a partially rolled scroll of paper, as the volute in Ionic and Corinthian capitals." These curves are is generated by a parametric equation that results in scroll-like shapes. I suppose it would extend to infinity if there were enough pixels. #genuary #genuary2025
