Trump announced Gentile’s sentence would be commuted, and that he could walk free.The latter decision was remarkably galling.
💥Gentile and his colleague had defrauded a staggering
10,000 different victims:
⚠️parents and grandparents with little to their names,
some of whom saw their entire life savings wiped out.“I’m totally disgusted, because it wasn’t only myself,”
one of Gentile’s victims said after Trump’s move.“It was my elder mother in her nineties and my sister as well… We all got defrauded.”

You've asked me what you can do to be a good ally right now.
I'm going to offer you three things to do this year. You can do one, two, or all three.
1. Listen and check in with your Jewish friends.
We are scared, lonely, and hurt. Check in with us. Talk to us, see how we are. And listen to us if we open up.
2. Believe us when we say something is antisemitic.
We are so often disbelieved or gaslit. Believe us when we tell you something.
3. Read People Love Dead Jews.
It's a long, difficult book. But read it. Read it. Please.

To my #gentile friends who have trouble understanding that #Jewish holidays start the night before:
Think of it like Trash Day. It really begins at sundown the night before, when it is time to drag the cans to the curb, and it ends at sundown the next day, by which time you need to have dragged them back. The night before Trash Day, or "Erev Trash Day", as it is known in our house, is really the most important part of the observance of Trash Day.
