Yumiko Yamamoto, the character designer for Genjitsu no Yohane, gave Aikyan this illustration of Yohane for Yohane birthday celebration, and Aikyan's tweet is so sweet. I love that she loves Yohane. :nnezukolove56:

Happy birthday to Yohane! My favorite character ever, and one of my greatest comforts. Her character theme of finding and embracing one's true self became a core theme of Aqours (find our own shine), and is one I hold near and dear. And it was by cosplaying her that I've grown as a person, made so many friends, and had so many wonderful experiences. She really is my greatest inspiration and my idol! 🤍😈
My big Yohane day celebrations: Making chocolate strawberries (her two favorite foods!) for my Yohane plushies, gathered under my Yohane wall with my wings. :nnezukolove56: And gathering up (some of...) my merch for a shrine celebration :mexcitedmiku: .

So I just realized why the concept of evil smoke in #GenjitsuNoYohane felt so familiar. It's the same kind of generic evil animal-corrupting miasma as #TheSaintsMagicPowerIsOmnipotent .
🤯
Blaze in the Deepblue tech (yes, time to make this a thing. No I will not stop playing this game. :AquaYeah: ): You can detonate the Zuramaru bomb early by hitting the laptop before she catches it.
For most (but maybe not all?) bosses, Mari timestop + Zuramaru bomb is already the fastest way to kill them. I haven't checked all the items, but from what I've seen the Zuramaru bomb is the strongest attack you have, its main constraint being how long it takes to activate and then how long Maru sits around dazed afterward (leaving you unable to cast another summon). This shortens that first part quite a bit.
... Am I gonna end up speedrunning boss rush? I don't know, I'm just enjoying playing it repeatedly.

Neat parallel from the Genjitsu no Yohane soundtrack to Love Live Sunshine:
One of the main melodies repeated throughout the soundtrack is the melody from Kono Sekai Wa Uta De Aru; it's used for a lot of emotional and hopeful scenes. I kept thinking while watching GnY that I was hearing the melody from Let's Make A Miracle/Kiseki Hikaru from the Sunshine OST, which is used for emotional and hopeful scenes in Sunshine. And it turns out yeah, they're very similar. A nice callback to Sunshine that gives the GnY OST a nostalgic vibe during emotional moments. Tatsuya Kato did such a good job on both the soundtracks. :akko_excited:

Genjitsu no Yohane OST CD came in today! (Among many other things :blobfoxlaughsweat: .) It really is beautiful.
One neat thing I'm already appreciating is the recurring melody from この世界は歌である ("This world is a song"), one of the main musical themes from the series. Two other notable places where it pops up: 故郷ヌマヅ ("Hometown Numazu") and ヨハネのまほう ("Yohane's magic"). Makes me think of one of the taglines of the series: "うたとまほうときずなのものがたり", "A story of song, magic, and bonds"; it's cool to see this theme woven into the OST.

A friend pointed out a small art error in Genjitsu no Yohane (I rarely catch these, but I'm sure there are plenty more): The designs on Riko's dress from Hey, dear my friends in episode 6 change from solid circles and rectangles to trees and open circles. The cover art for the Hey, dear my friends single matches the latter design, but apparently there's merch matching the former too...
I wanna see if they do anything about it in the bluray, but episode 6 should be on volume 4 I think, which doesn't come out until the end of December. :akko_sad:

Another Anime Con was a lot of fun! Got to hang around today with some friends today to wrap up the con.
Highlight for me was of course my first time performing in an idol showcase. :mexcitedmiku: And getting to share some excitement for Genjitsu no Yohane by doing Forever U & I (from the penultimate episode). It was really fun putting together the cosplay and figuring out the choreography from the episode, which is all I had to go on since it hasn't been performed live yet. :TamakoLaugh: (I'm actually really interested to see the choreo that Aikyan will use in the Yohane Live; there are a lot of cutaways in the anime MV that I had to fill in, and which will probably be filled in differently by Aikyan. :akko_excited: )
And all the other performances were all so good. :akko_listen: I really love the idol community around here; everyone's so good at performing, in addition to being so supportive and full of positive energy.

New song from the Genjitsu no Yohane anime! La la 勇気のうた. Also has a very distinctive "idol" feel to it, though unlike Wonder sea breeze did not feel like early Aqours/μ's.
When I heard it, I thought it sounded vaguely like a Liella insert song, or maybe a Nijigasaki song. Well, turns out Niji was the better guess: Morito Yonezawa, who's written a few things for Niji (Itsu date for you!, Analog Heart, Maze Town) was one of the composers. Another was alura, who hasn't done anything Love Live I think but has written for some idol groups, and Fi'Ne, who I know nothing about.
