I guess it highly depends on your area. For "my" Black Forest, all the Catholic records are indexed at FS, no scans. In rare occasions, usually for unrelated profiles on #WikiTree, I find some files on #ancestry or #newspapers.com, which I then ask people with a subscription, if they might take a peek for me. Sometimes I lack searching ancestry trees for "inspiration", but then I use #geneanet, #geni or the genealogies at FS instead. -
