#Forensic #genetic #genealogists like Cece Moore skirt #GEDmatch #privacy rules by hunting for relatives just as traditional genealogists do but with a twist: They work with #lawenforcement agencies and use commercial databases to search for people who can help identify remains or perpetrators who left DNA at #crimescene. Moore among fields biggest evangelists, boasts of having helped close over 200 cases.

  5. Since Covid began I haven’t driven very far from home, only as far as Hobart, New Norfolk, Pontville and Orford. But today I headed to Evandale near Launceston. Most of my ancestors started their Tasmanian lives in that district. I visited The information centre at Evandale and spoke to a volunteer who organised for me to meet someone from the historical society. I wanted to check that the folders I am putting together were suitable for them to have. I drove down to Clarendon property to meet him and have a chat. Then I decided to take a drive to Nile, Deddington, English Town and Blessington all places where the ancestors lived in the 1840’s. Of course none of their houses were there. View from near English Town looking down the valley towards Deddington. I am going to write a post on my blog soon about my day out. #Evandale #Tasmania #Genealogy #Genealogists #FamilyHistory

  6. #genealogy to my fellow #genealogists and #FamilyHistory writers who have followed the #twittermigration this is my 2nd day and I feel happy here. The very best thing is seeing old friends and meeting new ones. What we discovered is use #hashtag as much as you can. Introduce yourself with a list of #'s and include them in the # place on your profile. I think my next post will be a list of #surnames. I have already posted a list of #countries my ancestors came from.
