Gemini 3 Flash’s new ‘Agentic Vision’ improves image responses

Agentic Vision is a new capability for the Gemini 3 Flash model to make image-related tasks more accurate by “grounding answers in visual evidence.”

Frontier AI models like Gemini typically process the world in a single, static glance. If they miss a fine-grained detail — like a serial number on a microchip or a distant street sign — they are forced to guess.

This new approach “treats vision as an active investigation” by combining visual reasoning with code execution and other tools in the future.

To answer prompts with images, Gemini 3 Flash will formulate “plans to zoom in, inspect and manipulate images step-by-step.” Specifically, Agentic Vision leverages a “Think, Act, Observe loop.”

1. Think: the model analyzes the user query and the initial image, formulating a multi-step plan.
2. Act: The model generates and executes Python code to actively manipulate images (e.g. cropping, rotating, annotating) or analyze them (e.g. running calculations, counting bounding boxes, etc).
3. Observe: The transformed image is appended to the model’s context window. This allows the model to inspect the new data with better context before generating a final response.

Instead of just describing an image it’s given, Gemini 3 Flash “can execute code to draw directly on the canvas to ground its reasoning.” One example of this image annotation in the Gemini app is asking “to count the digits on a hand.”

To avoid counting errors, it uses Python to draw bounding boxes and numeric labels over each finger it identifies. This “visual scratchpad” ensures that its final answer is based on pixel-perfect understanding.

Meanwhile, Gemini 3 Flash will zoom in when it detects fine-grained details in the image. Agentic Vision can also “parse high-density tables and execute Python code to visualize the findings.”

Agentic Vision results in a “consistent 5-10% quality boost across most vision benchmarks” for Gemini 3 Flash.

This is starting to roll out to the Gemini app with the Thinking model. For developers, it’s available today with the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI.

Google wprowadza do aplikacji Gemini nową, kreatywną funkcję o nazwie Storybook. Pozwala ona na generowanie spersonalizowanych, ilustrowanych książeczek wraz z narracją audio. Co najważniejsze, narzędzie jest dostępne globalnie i bezpłatnie dla wszystkich użytkowników Gemini, zarówno na komputerach, jak i urządzeniach mobilnych. Ja sprawdziłam wersję przeglądarkową. Działa, ale ma też kilka ograniczeń, o których warto pamiętać.

Storybook to imponujące narzędzie, które pozwala przekształcić dowolny pomysł w unikalną, 10-stronicową opowieść z niestandardową grafiką i głosem lektora. Wystarczy opisać historię, którą chcemy stworzyć, a Gemini zajmie się resztą, łącząc możliwości modelu językowego z zaawansowanym generatorem obrazów i syntezatorem mowy. Funkcja jest dostępna w ponad 45 językach, w tym po polsku.

Bogate możliwości personalizacji opowieści

Największą siłą Storybooka jest personalizacja. Użytkownicy mogą nie tylko opisywać fabułę, ale również czerpać inspirację z własnych zdjęć i plików. To otwiera zupełnie nowe możliwości – wystarczy wgrać zdjęcie z rodzinnej wycieczki, by zamienić je w magiczną przygodę, lub przesłać rysunek dziecka i poprosić AI o ożywienie go w formie ilustrowanej bajki.

Gemini oferuje przy tym szeroki wachlarz stylów graficznych: od pixel artu i komiksu, przez plastelinę i szydełkowanie, aż po stylizację na książeczkę do kolorowania.

Kreatywność bez granic

Google podsuwa kilka inspirujących scenariuszy wykorzystania nowej funkcji. Storybook może posłużyć do wyjaśnienia dziecku skomplikowanych tematów, na przykład tworząc opowieść o Układzie Słonecznym merytorycznie dopasowaną np. do percepcji kilkulatka. Może również stać się narzędziem do przekazywania uniwersalnych wartości, takich jak dobro, empatia, życzliwość itp. Możliwość bazowania na własnych materiałach sprawia, że jest to idealne narzędzie do przekształcania wspomnień, dziecięcej twórczości, czy własnych pomysłów w niepowtarzalne, cyfrowe pamiątki.

Oczywiście nie musimy za pomocą tej funkcji tworzyć wyłącznie bajek, jedynym ograniczeniem twórczym są same ograniczenia etyczne modelu Gemini jako takiego, nie ma natomiast ograniczeń co do kategorii treści, jakie w formie graficznej opowiastki chcemy wygenerować za pomocą AI.

Jak zacząć?

Bariera wejścia zasadniczo nie istnieje. Ja na przykład poprosiłam Gemini (po aktywacji Gemu o nazwie Storybook), by stworzył mi opowieść graficzną na podstawie wiersza Juliana Tuwima „Lokomotywa”, z grafiką w stylu „plastelinek”. Po wpisaniu polecenia (z treścią wiersza w nim) pozostało czekać kilkadziesiąt sekund na rezultat. Oto efekt (okładka 10-stronicowej wygenerowanej bajki):

Niestety, mam tu kilka uwag. Jeżeli oczekujecie że Storybook zilustruje wam pięknie wiersz Tuwima, to możecie się srodze rozczarować. Owszem, ilustracje są bardzo ładne i na pewno dzieciom się spodobają, ale wygenerowana treść to tekst „na podstawie” źródła, odarty całkowicie z pięknej melodii i rytmu stworzonego przez Juliana Tuwima. Czy da się to naprawić? Tak, wystarczy wyraźnie zaznaczyć w poleceniu, by treść wiersza w tworzym storybooku pozostała nienaruszona.

Lepiej tworzyć na własnych pomysłach

Niemniej w przypadku całkowicie autorskich pomysłów, opartych na własnych wspomnieniach, zdjęciach, dziecięcych rysunkach, rezultaty mogą być ciekawe, warto poeksperymentować. Co istotne, gotowego Storybooka można nie tylko przeglądać strona po stronie na ekranie komputera, smartfona czy tabletu (również w trybie pełnoekranowym), ale można też wydrukować (co ma sens, szczególnie w kontekście wspomnianego wcześniej stylu kolorowanek) odsłuchać i to z wyborem tonacji głosu (głos żeński i męski). Niestety, odczyt bajki przez Gemini pozostaje dość beznamiętny. Rodzice z całą pewnością przeczytają to lepiej swoim pociechom.

Nie zmienia to faktu, że udostępnienie tak zaawansowanego i wszechstronnego narzędzia kreatywnego w bezpłatnej wersji Gemini to znaczący krok w kierunku demokratyzacji dostępu do technologii generatywnej AI. Google wyraźnie pokazuje, że chce, aby sztuczna inteligencja była nie tylko asystentem do zadań, ale również partnerem w codziennej kreatywności, dostępnym dla każdego na całym świecie.
