Booted the ISO of #GeckoLinux to see if it would run on my MacBook Air. I was considering clicking the install button when I decided to have a look at the YaST package manager…

Oh, my.

The banner on yast.openSUSE.org proudly proclaims, “Linux's predominant tool since 1996.”

Apparently they’ve decided to stick with the 1996 interface.

You do you, #YaST. I’m rebooting and returning to the warm embrace of #Pamac.

Added #geckolinux and @VoidLinux to the @BuddiesOfBudgie docs website! GeckoLinux has a dedicated ISO for Budgie, so it gets to go up in the "Get Budgie Effortlessly" section, while Void now has fully written out manual installation instructions by yours truly.

Really impressed by #SpiralLinux - pretty much vanilla #Debian Testing branch running very well on my spare Macbook Pro. Dev does a great job with #GeckoLinux - so that is #Debian and #openSuSE made easy and both with great rollback feature! #Linux

I use #OpenSUSE Tumbleweed on one of my laptops. I may install Leap 15.4 or #GeckoLinux on another soon, but I also want one #Fedora 37 system installed somewhere as well. Why? Because it helps me with my #Centos / #RHEL skills. #RedHat #Linux

Okay, today I started looking into what causes that #kernelpanic on my #geckolinux / #opensuse #tumbleweed.

A search for the error message led to https://askubuntu.com/questions/41930/kernel-panic-not-syncing-vfs-unable-to-mount-root-fs-on-unknown-block0-0#41939 - but I'm not on Ubuntu.

Turns out, openSUSE is using #dracut.

List of installed kernels at `/lib/modules`.
I picked 5.17.2-1-default (because the last working version for me is .1-1) and passed that to dracut:

`sudo dracut --kver 5.17.2-1-default -f`

This should update #initramfs.

Updating GRUB using `yast bootloader`>

Hmm... the #tumbleweed install created a screen freeze issue.
Interesting as #leap #geckolinux next, did not.

Here is my old #hp x2 (2 in 1, tablet/pc) with a fresh install of #geckolinux #OBS #rolling release
- an #opensuse respin with the #pantheon desktop!
