Looking at the election data #GE24 and the question of ballot position, I discover the FG and FF candidate surnames come significantly earlier in the alphabet, on average, than other parties.
Practically 30% of their candidates have names in the A-C range, vs 23.5% overall.
SF and independents are fairly low too.
I really can't think why this might be.

The Limerick City #GE24 ballot paper had a small problem with alphabetical order (Qs came before Os) and non-elected candidates were moaning.

New election, new women in Dáil Éireann. Just not many.
In 2016 there was gender quota. The %female went from 13.25% to 21.5%.
A step change. Since then, it hit 22.5% in 2020, and of the 155/174 seats already assigned from last week's election, 25.2%.
Apart from the step change at the time of the gender quota, it's a little stagnant!

According to Gript around 300k of voters cast their vote in support of nazis (including Aintú and independent). That is about 13% of the votes cast.
I was curious to compare this with the number of immigrants they hate so much.
About 5.5% 300k of Ireland population are citizens of non-EU-non-UK countries. 376.k are immigrants from the EU, 676k total. (I do not include UK citizens because Irish nazis are notoriously tolerant to everything UK).

Cathy Bennett (SF)'s surplus is about 1,800, and the gap between Aontú and the Fianna Fáil pair is about 1,500. Niamh Smyth and Brendan Smith will retain in Cavan-Monaghan, the final constituency outstanding. #ge24 - as per @gavreilly.com on X So 86 for FF-FG, 2 short of a majority.
