#Starmer is just a frontman for #MorganMcSweeney, whose goal is only to destroy the left. Starmer lied his way to #LabourParty leader, purged the left, but brought no vision, won #GE24 only by a quirk of #FPTP, and smashes liberties.
As political editor of The #NewStatesman, Marr has projected onto Starmer talents which nobody else sees.

Looking at the election data #GE24 and the question of ballot position, I discover the FG and FF candidate surnames come significantly earlier in the alphabet, on average, than other parties.
Practically 30% of their candidates have names in the A-C range, vs 23.5% overall.
SF and independents are fairly low too.
I really can't think why this might be.

The Limerick City #GE24 ballot paper had a small problem with alphabetical order (Qs came before Os) and non-elected candidates were moaning.
That got me thinking: what evidence is there that ballot-order has an effect.
I needed data: Wikipedia has it for all constituencies, even for 2024 (mostly) and a lot of other years.
I used Julia to mass-download, and Emacs to massage the data into something analysable.
A little tricky identifying surnames (with Ó and Mac and double-barrels)!

They have succeeded in manipulating this cohort via anger based false narratives to sow social chaos and disruption.

New election, new women in Dáil Éireann. Just not many.
In 2016 there was gender quota. The %female went from 13.25% to 21.5%.
A step change. Since then, it hit 22.5% in 2020, and of the 155/174 seats already assigned from last week's election, 25.2%.
Apart from the step change at the time of the gender quota, it's a little stagnant!

According to Gript around 300k of voters cast their vote in support of nazis (including Aintú and independent). That is about 13% of the votes cast.
I was curious to compare this with the number of immigrants they hate so much.
About 5.5% 300k of Ireland population are citizens of non-EU-non-UK countries. 376.k are immigrants from the EU, 676k total. (I do not include UK citizens because Irish nazis are notoriously tolerant to everything UK).

Cathy Bennett (SF)'s surplus is about 1,800, and the gap between Aontú and the Fianna Fáil pair is about 1,500. Niamh Smyth and Brendan Smith will retain in Cavan-Monaghan, the final constituency outstanding. #ge24 - as per @gavreilly.com on X So 86 for FF-FG, 2 short of a majority.

I thought I knew who would be on Friday’s ballot paper from looking at posters on poles, and from leaflets through the letterbox (only one candidate has turned up in person). But using #WhichCandidate I realised about a 1/3 of the candidates in my constituency are unpreferrable to me in every way, and about 3 or 4 were unknown to me. I have the misfortune to be able to hear #LiveLine again, but here's a PSA: if you have a "No Junk Mail" sign on your post box, you will get election materials because (whatever you may think of it) election material is not junk mail.
(You can, of course, put up a "No Election Materials" sign, and unsurprisingly you will get no election materials.)
