#Windows cache un identifiant secret que #Microsoft file au #FBI
Peter Stokes, accusé d'appartenir à Scattered Spider, a été identifié par le FBI grâce au #GDID (Global Device Identifier), un identifiant unique caché dans Windows que Microsoft a fourni aux enquêteurs malgré ses #VPN
Le GDID reste constant, même après mises à jour et changements d'adresse IP, car il opère au niveau de l'OS et non du réseau ; Microsoft l'utilise pour la #télémétrie, les rapports de plantage et la vérification des #licences
Il n'existe aucun bouton pour désactiver le GDID.
